He completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Khalsa College, Amritsar, and earned his PhD from Guru Nanak Dev University.
It is noteworthy that, in the illustrious 101-year history of the college since its founding in 1924, Hindu College’s Principal was appointed from outside its own fraternity.
While assuming the office, Dr Kumar encouraged the faculty to motivate students to excel in academics, sports and co-curricular activities. He also praised the teaching and non-teaching staff for their dedication and hard work in shaping students to meet the challenges of today’s competitive world.
All officials of the Hindu College Governing Council were present on the occasion. The president of Hindu Sabha, Advocate Munish Menon; and the Secretary, Mohit Mahajan; congratulated Dr Kumar.
