Housemaid held for theft, gold, cash recovered

She was apprehended by officials of the D Division police station. The police recovered jewellery, including one gold necklace, a pair of gold earrings and Rs 1,06,000 in cash from her possession.
The case was registered following a complaint by Kapil Goel, a resident of BK Dutt Gate, Amritsar, who reported theft of gold jewellery and cash from his house. During investigation, it was revealed that the accused, Bevi, who worked as a domestic help in Goel’s house, was responsible for the theft. Upon further probe, the police recovered a stolen gold necklace, a pair of earrings and cash amounting to Rs 1,06,000 from her possession.
The investigation was led by Sub-Inspector Rakesh Kumar, SHO, D Division police station, Amritsar, along with ASI Davinderjit Singh and his team. The police authorities had assured a thorough investigation, while legal proceedings against the accused were underway.
