The Indian Academy of Fine Arts (IAFA) today opened an exhibition of art works by eminent women artists of Punjab to mark the International Women’s Day.
General secretary of the art gallery, Dr PS Grover, said that works by 50 women artists have been featured in the exhibition. displaying the varied naunces of their art. “The exhibition displays paintings, contemporary art work, installations and digital media art work by 50 artists of various genres and age-groups. We have given a platform to senior as well amateur and budding artists of Punjab. The exhibition invites people and art lovers to come and absorb the amazing work by these accomplished women artists.”
The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr Balwinder Kaur. Art from genres including paintings, sculptures, sketches and graphics was displayed, presenting techniques and individual style of these artists. Dr Balwinder Kaur appreciated the acknowledgment that women artists in the city are now receiving and hoped that it would continue in future as well.
