Illicit liquor, lahan seized in joint op
Tarn Taran, July 16
The Excise Department and the district police conducted a joint search operation in the border area of Mari Samra village near Bhikhiwind on Saturday. Two working stills and huge quantity of lahan and illicit liquor were seized.
The operation was launched under the supervision of Excise Inspector Jatinder Singh. The Excise Inspector said illegal activities were being carried out from a farmhouse of Shamsher Singh from where the joint team recovered 27 drums of 4,500 kg of lahan and 115.5 litre of illicit liquor.
The team arrested Jugraj Singh of Mehmudpur from the spot who was working as an operator while Dilbag Singh Baga absconded from the spot.
