The Sarai Amanat Khan police and a team of the Excise Department conducted a joint raid at Sidhwan village and seized 9,000 ml of English and 6,750 ml of illicit liquor, respectively on Saturday.

Rajinder Kaur, Excise Inspector, and in-charge of the Bhikhiwind circle, lead the joint team of the police and the Excise Department.

Rajinder Kaur said liquor was recovered from the suspect, identified as Nirmal Singh Nimma. He was arrested on the spot by the police. A case under Sections 61, 1 and 14 of the Excise Act was registered against suspect in this connection, she said. — OC
