IMA elects its office-bearers
The Tarn Tran chapter of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) unanimously elected Dr Dinesh Gupta and Dr GS Aulakh as its president and honorary secretary for a third consecutive term. Dr Varun Gupta was elected the finance secretary. IMA, at a meeting of its General House on Monday, also resolved to hold medical camps in slum areas of the district.
At the meeting, Dr Kashmir Singh Sohal, MLA, was appointed patron of the Association. The other office-bearers elected were Dr GS Rai, Civil Surgeon, as the vice-president and Dr Monika Gupta and Dr Sukhbir Kaur, DHO, as state council members. The IMA members assured the administration of support and cooperation in implementing various national health programmes. Dr Gupta urged the private non- IMA affiliated hospitals and centres which are in a majority to prioritise the sharing of maternal, child health and immunisation data, apart from cooperating in national health programmes. Dr Aulakh stated that the medicos will continue to educate and enlighten the masses regarding prevention of various diseases.
