Tarn Taran, January 31
The local unit of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) bagged the first position out of the 52 small branches in the state for its services extended in case of accidents in the area. Dr GS Aulakh, Honorary Secretary of the Association, hailed the formation of Sadak Surakhya Force (SSF) by the state government to prevent road accidents which take a heavy toll on the health and finances of the victims.
Dr Aulakh said that the local unit of the IMA would continue to hold seminars as well as address other health concerns of the public. In a meeting of the newly elected office-bearers, Dr Dinesh Gupta, president of the IMA Amritsar chapter, thanked the doctors of the region for bringing laurels to the unit and for their contribution to serve people involved in accidents.
