The Health Department organised a district-level training workshop on routine immunisation and the Measles-Rubella (MR) campaign in the city here on Tuesday. The session was held under the chairmanship of Civil Surgeon Dr Swaranjit Dhawan.
Block educators, Lady Health Visitors (LHVs), and paramedical staff from across the district participated in the training. District Immunisation Officer Dr Bharti explained that through routine immunisation, children are protected from 12 life-threatening diseases. She appealed to all parents to ensure their children complete the vaccination schedule so that they remain safe from these deadly illnesses.
Dr Bharti also highlighted the use of the U-WIN app, where complete vaccination data of children is uploaded. This makes it possible to access a child’s immunisation record from anywhere with the help of the
internet. Parents will also be able to download and print vaccination certificates easily through this system.
On the occasion, Dr Ishita from the World Health Organization (WHO) provided detailed training on the subject. BCG Officer Dr Manmeet Kaur, District MEIO Amardeep Singh, Dr Vineet, and other staff members were also present during the workshop.
