In Board Exams, pugilists pack a punch
More than 10 pugilists from Amritsar Boxing Centre, who are undergoing training at Khalsa College, proved their mettle in Class X and Class XII board exams, results of which were declared recently.
Tejaswi Kaur, who ranked second in the 2023 State School Games, obtained 92 per cent in Class X.
Chahat, who ranked second in the 2023 Boxing Federation of India and bagged bronze medal in the 2024 School State Games, achieved 87 per cent in Class X.
Gurbilas Singh secured 90 per cent in Class X and was ranked second in the 2024 State School Games.
Similarly, Muskanpreet Kaur obtained 91 per cent in Class XII (commerce stream). She ranked second in the 2023 State School Games and third in the 2024 State School Games.
Pugilist Savroop Singh, who was ranked top player in the 2024 State School Games and third in the National School Games, obtained 91 per cent in Class XII (Humanities stream).
Pawani Sharma scored 95 per cent in Class XII. Last year, she stood first in the State School Games and had also participated in the School National Boxing Championship.
Boxer Harleen Kaur, who clinched first position in the 2023 State School Games, obtained 82 per cent in Class XII (Medical stream).
Pari Pragati Singh grabbed 70 per cent in Class XII (Humanities stream). She stood second in the 2024 State School Games.
Rajbir Shamra, who stood first in the 2023 State School Games and had participated in the 2024 National School Games, obtained 70 per cent marks in Class XII (Humanities stream).
Likewise, Jatin secured 65 per cent in Class XII and ranked second in the 2024 State School Games.
Varun Sharma, a national player, had secured third position in the 2024 State School Games last year and ranked second in the Kheda Wattan Punjab Diyan in 2024. He secured 75 per cent in Class XII (Humanities stream).
Snehdeep Singh, who got 82 per cent in Class XII, had participated in the Youth World Cup last year. He topped in his weight category in the State School Games and also participated in the National School Games.
International pugilist Vansh Sharma obtained 79 per cent in Class XII. He had participated in the Youth World Cup last year and ranked first in the State School Games held this year.
Amrinder Singh, who clinched the first position in the State School Games last year, secured 68 per cent in Class XII (Commerce stream).
