As part of the Indian Coast Guard’s 49th Raising Day celebrations, the landmark ‘Sentinels of the Sea— Sarhad Se Samandar’ motorcycle expedition was flagged off by COMCG (West) IG Bhisham Sharma and Dr Atul Fulzele, IG BSF Punjab Frontier, from Attari Border here on Wednesday.
Organised by the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) Regional head quarter (West), in collaboration with Triumph Motorcycles, the 2,300 km rally traverses India’s border towns and coastal cities, culminating at Gateway of India, Mumbai on Coast Guard Day on February 1. A tribute to ICG’s valour and vigilance, the rally fosters national unity, environmental consciousness and maritime heritage, reinforcing ICG’s enduring mission of safeguarding the seas.
Dy Comdt Gaurav Acharya said the rally is more than a ride — it’s a testament to the Indian Coast Guard’s dedication to safeguarding coasts and borders. It reflects the commitment of brave personnel and aligns with initiatives like Fit India, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and Swachh Bharat.
