Borders villages in Gurdaspur and Pathankot districts have been identified for infrastructure development following a recent review of the Border Area Development Programme.
Under the “Vibrant Village Programme”, the Ministry of Home Affairs has sanctioned Rs 6,830 crore for 107 villages in 15 states.
Sharing information with Gurdaspur MP Sukhjinder Randhawa, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai said the 100 per cent Central project aimed at creating basic infrastructure and livelihood opportunities in the identified border villages.
In a communication to the ministry, the MP had sought to know whether there was any programme for the restoration of border infrastructure in the strategic sector of Punjab in the light of Operation Sindoor.
