JBMM Civil Hospital adjudged best in state for quality services

In a moment of pride for the city, the Jallianwala Bagh Martyrs Memorial (JBMM) Civil Hospital has been ranked first in Punjab under the National Quality Assurance Programme (NQAP) conducted by the Ministry of Health.

The hospital stood out among 23 district-level hospitals in the state, earning this prestigious recognition for its commitment to high-quality, patient-centric care.

The hospital’s outstanding performance is credited to the dedicated leadership of Senior Medical Officer Dr Swarnjit Dhawan, who emphasised that the hospital was committed to providing the best possible treatment to every patient.

“We treat around 1,000 patients daily in the Outpatient Department (OPD), and all services, including medicines, are provided completely free of cost,” said Dr Dhawan.

The hospital has shown exceptional results in the Lakshya and Muskaan programmes, the national initiatives aimed at improving maternal and child healthcare.

A three-member committee from the national Health Department recently visited the

hospital for a detailed inspection.

They were highly satisfied with the services provided, especially to

pregnant women and

children.

Patients gave a satisfactory response regarding the quality and accessibility of care at the hospital.

As part of its ongoing development, the hospital is soon launching a state-of-the-art laboratory.

This modern facility, equipped with the latest technology, will offer a wide range of diagnostic tests free of cost, further enhancing healthcare access for all.

Dr Dhawan said the hospital was working closely with the Punjab Government, which was running special welfare schemes to ensure that quality healthcare reached even the most underprivileged sections of society.

In recognition of its excellence, the Ministry of Health will be awarding the hospital with a special certificate, marking it as a model institution in public healthcare.

This success, Dr Dhawan said, was the result of the hard work and dedication of doctors, nurses and the entire staff, who had brought the hospital to the forefront of medical service in the state.
