Judicial Dept organises function to mark Labour Day in Tarn Taran

Under the directions of District and Sessions Judge Kanwaljit Singh Bajwa, the judicial department organised a function here on Thursday to mark the International Labour Day. Chief Judicial Magistrate –cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Shilpa, while addressing on the occasion, highlighted the steps taken by the state government for the welfare of workers and said that the government had started registering the labourers.

The judicial officer said that the department with the help of Labour Department, provides free legal aid to the needy on all working days. A Permanent Lok Adalat is also held to provide free legal aid to the weaker sections of society.

Toll-free number 15100. Avtar Singh Taneja, a social worker of the area, was among those who spoke on the occasion.

Meanwhile, political parties, social and public organisations also held meetings and rallies to mark the International Labour Day today.
