Kar Seva Sect distributes seed, fertiliser among flood-affected farmers in Sarhali

Baba Sukha Singh and Baba Hakam Singh of the Kar Seva Sect, Sarhali, who played a pivotal role in the state’s flood rescue operations, distributed seeds and fertilisers to farmers affected by the floods during a function held in Sarhali on Sunday.

Sant Baba Sukha Singh stated the beneficiaries of the sect’s relief efforts included farmers from villages such as Bhail Dhaewala, Kishanpura (Gharka), Khojkipur, Dineke,and Ruriwala. He explained the sect had conducted a thorough survey of the affected areas, and, based on the recommendations of the sect’s followers, wheat seed and fertiliser for 278 acres of farmland were distributed to the impacted farmers in the Mand area.

Additionally, the Kar Seva Sect initiated a land levelling project for farmers in Karmuwala and Gharka villages, whose fields were damaged by river flooding. Baba Sukha Singh confirmed the service would continue in other affected areas as well.

Among those involved in the relief efforts were Jathedar Gurdeep Singh Shaheed, Jathedar Manjinder Singh Sursingh, and Jathedar Himmat Singh, who were part of the team serving the affected communities.

Baba Sukha Singh expressed his gratitude, saying that these services could only be carried out with the support of the sangat (community). The Kar Seva Sect’s ongoing efforts are providing much-needed assistance to flood-affected farmers as they begin the long process of recovery.
