Looking stunning as usual, the blue-eyed girl of Bollywood, actress Karisma Kapoor, walked the ramp for city-based designer Tanu Sharma at the launch of her label Trumpet Vine. The actress was wearing a champagne-coloured ball gown with embellishments and fringes on sleeves, done in marbling textures on fabric.

“I feel like a princess in this beautiful ball gown. I always feel delighted to visit Amritsar and I think the city has definitely got some progressive fashion,” said Karisma, while interacting with the media.

With her fashion game always on point, Karisma has always been a fashion icon for her generation and today’s social media-savvy fashionistas. Terming Punjab as a budding hub of designer labels and couturiers, Karisma said Punjabi women had always been well-dressed.

“The beautiful traditional embroideries like phulkari have caught the fancy of designers globally. I feel that Punjab has always been high on fashion and trends. Even a humble salwar-kurta has become a fashion staple. So, it is wonderful to see women take up fashion and dressing up seriously,” said Karisma, who is often seen flaunting gorgeous kurta-palazzo sets.

On work front, the actor will soon be seen in a web series titled Mentalhood, which is based on motherhood and its several challenges.

Tanu Sharma, who launched her label Trumpet Vine with a diverse collection, said there was a need to combine the style with comfort. “The contemporary women prefer the style with comfort, something that is classy and affordable. I have tried to focus on my collection keeping in mind the fashion preferences and affordability in mind. I tried not to limit my designs to just a niche clientele. The first collection is very special for me.”
