The senior Congress leader had promised to replace his cycle that got rusted due to about four-feet flood water that entered his house recently.

During his visit to flood-ravaged villages in Amritsar on September 15, Gandhi had visited the house of Ravidas Singh in Ghonewal village of Ajnala area. He saw his son Amritpal weeping while standing on a bed in his house. Gandhi embraced him in order to calm him down. To cheer him up, he called him a brave boy and promised him a new cycle.

The incident reminded locals of the August 27 political roadshow by the Congress in Bihar’s Darbhanga where Dhaba owner Shubham complained of losing his bike due to the roadshow. Later, Gandhi compensated him by gifting a brand-new Pulsar bike.
