Khalsa College seminar dwells on ways to ace exams for govt jobs

The Post-Graduate Department of Commerce and Business Administration of Khalsa College organised a seminar on “Ace Your Government Exams: Expert Guidance and Strategies” in association with IBT Institute Private Ltd.

Jatinder Kumar, centre head, IBT and Jatin Mohan Sharma, centre co-ordinator, were the resource persons in the programme. The resource persons possessed in-depth knowledge about the career opportunities available for students in various government sectors. The primary objective of the lecture was to prepare students for various competitive exams by polishing their skills in areas like aptitude and communication, to capture the available job opportunities in the government sector like banking, taxation and insurance etc.

Dr Mehal Singh, principal of the host college and seminar chairman, in his address to the participants, shared his views about the level of recruitment exams for government jobs. The recruiting agencies expect more than just rote learning from the candidates and the students must have conceptual clarity and an analytical mindset to apply the information gained to ace government exams.

Dr AK Kahlon, Dean and seminar director, said the youth need mentors who could guide them in cracking any competitive exam. The present seminar aims to bridge the gap and this will enable the students to succeed in competing for government jobs, he said. Dr Poonam Sharma, seminar coordinator, threw light on the theme of the seminar and introduced the distinguished guests while Dr Manisha Behal conducted the stage.

Jatinder Kumar explained the job opportunities available for commerce graduates and post-graduates. He also highlighted ways to improve communication and workplace skills. Jatin Mohan Sharma provided techniques to solve mathematical problems and motivated the students to stay abreast of current affairs and news. Dr Manisha Behal presented a vote of thanks to the resource persons and Prof Meenu Chopra took charge for broadcasting of the event. More than 100 students from the commerce department participated in the lecture.
