KT: Kala Museum celebrated its 15th Foundation Day by opening an exhibition of vintage books and prints. Since its establishment in 2011, KT: Kala Museum has become a prominent hub for artistic and cultural activities in the region. Over the past 15 years, the museum has hosted hundreds of solo and group exhibitions, seminars, art competitions, workshops and other creative events—establishing itself as a vital platform for the promotion of art and culture.
To mark the special occasion, a distinctive exhibition titled “Printed Memories: The KT: Kala Collection” was inaugurated. This exhibition presents a rare and valuable collection of books related to art, culture and literature, along with magazines, brochures, catalogues, handwritten letters and significant documents connected to theatre and the performing arts. The exhibition will remain open to the public daily until Saturday.
Brajesh Jolly, Curator and Director, KT Kala, said that vintage prints hold cultural and historical value as they document the stories of their time. “We have displayed some of the rare, first edition literature in Hindi, English and Punjabi, related to the progression and development of theatre and related literature. Collectors have donated these books, and we have sourced them from some of the artists and patrons who would share this treasure with others.”
The exhibition has some vintage botanical prints, maps, miniatures and engravings celebrating the artistic journey of many regional artists.
Secretary, Kausa Trust, Rajesh Raina, and several distinguished artists from the city, including Mala Chawla, Kulwant Singh Gill, Gulshan Sadana and Anil Dutta, were in attendance and appreciated the exhibition for familiarising art enthusiasts with different genres.
