Lack of drinking water facility at Company Bagh troubles visitors

Being being one of the monuments of history and the largest breathing space in the city, Company Bagh does not have any drinking water facility. It may sound strange but it is true as the only water cooler inside the Bagh near the old fountains is lying defunct for a long time.

The bagh is visited by local residents and tourists all through the day for jogging and walking. Senior officials of the Amritsar Municipal Corporation had recently visited the bagh and took a strong view of the unclean surroundings after which extensive cleanliness work was started.

However, the problem of non-availability of clean drinking water being faced by people still remains to be addressed. Though the bagh does have a shop, the only one in the entire premises near the entrance, where the vendor only provides bottles of local brands.
