List of voters for SGPC elections to be finally published on Feb 25

The preliminary publication of voters’ list for the election of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has been done by the Chief Commissioner, Gurudwara Election, Punjab, and the date for submission of objections over the list has been fixed as January 24.

Deputy Commissioner Rahul said here today that the final publication of the list would be done on February 25. The DC said that a total number of 2,51,995 voters have been registered in the district. The Deputy Commissioner said that revised authorities and returning officers too have been deputed in the district for the elections.

The DC said that the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Khadoor Sahib, has been deputed as Returning Officer for the 88-Khadoor Sahib and 89-Naushehra Panuan segments along with a team of officials as the Revised Authority.

Deputy Commissioner Rahul added that the SDM, Patti, has been assigned the duty of the Returning Officer for Patti constituency along with other officials as the Revised Authority.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) would work as the Returning Officer for 91-Valtoha and 92-Bhikhiwind. The SDM, Tarn Taran, has been deputed as Returning Officer for 93-Tarn Taran and 94-Chabal along with a team of other officials as the Revised Officers. The date of election is yet to be announced.
