Literary event held to encourage reading habit among students

A special literary event was organised at Bhai Gurdas Library of the local Sri Guru Arjan Dev (SGAD) Government College under the campaign, “Books Speak – Read and Grow”, with the aim of connecting readers with books and library.

Renowned poet Malvinder from Raabta Mukaalma Kaav Manch was the chief guest and shared his literary journey with the students. Former chief librarian Dr Prabhjot Kaur Sandhu inspired the students to connect with books and literature and invited them to join the “Books Speak” campaign.

Former principal of the college Dr Surinder Kaur attended the event and acquainted the students with the importance of library and reading books. The others who addressed the gathering included vice-principal Dr Gurinderjeet Kaur and librarian Satinderbir Kaur. They motivated the students to enhance their literary awareness and cultivate the habit of reading more books. Satinderbir Kaur added that initiatives would be taken to encourage the students further.
