Senior SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia today appeared before a local court in connection to a defamation case filed by him against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh.

He claimed that Sanjay Singh did not appear in the court today and had been evading the hearing.

Majithia had filed the case against AAP leaders Arvind Kejriwal, Ashish Khetan and Sanjay Singh for allegedly making defamatory statements against him during political rallies in the run-up to the 2017 Assembly elections. He said he had already forgiven Arvind Kejriwal and Ashish Khetan after they had apologised in the court.

Majithia filed the case against AAP leaders—Arvind Kejriwal, Sanjay Singh and Ashish Khetan—in May 2016. Kejriwal apologised to Majithia for his statements. Sanjay Singh, however, refused to apologise and decided to face the trial.
