Man arrested by Patti city police for assaulting stepdaughter

The Patti city police have arrested a man in connection with assaulting the 10-year-old daughter of his wife, her child from her first marriage. The mother of the victim, in her statement recorded with lady sub- inspector Manpreet Kaur, said being a sweeper, she used to go for duty from morning till late in the evening. The accused, named as Jagtar Singh Gokha of Patti city, had been frequently assaulting the girl.

A few days back, the victim elaborated the story to her mother who approached the Patti city police. The police said that the victim was medically examined by a board of doctors and the physical assault has been confirmed. The accused have been booked under section 64 (2), 351 (2) of the BNS and Section 4 of POCSO Act.
