The deceased’s brother, Akashdeep Singh, told the police that on Wednesday at around 8pm, he, along with Kaptan Singh, was standing in the park when the accused also came there. During conversation, the accused got enraged over a minor issue and Lakhbir Singh slapped his brother. He said at around 10pm, they went to the house of the accused for complaining to his family about Lakhbir’s behaviour. He said Lakhbir again got angry and hit Kaptan with baseball bat on his head. He fell down and started bleeding. He was immediately rushed to hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Harjit Singh, investigating officer, said a case under Sections 302, 323, 34 of the Indian Penal Code was registered against the suspects and raids were on to arrest them.
