Seventy-year-old Gurbhej Singh was killed by his addict son in Allowal village after the latter hit him with a brick in the head last night. The matter was noticed today in the morning by residents and Ranjit Singh, a member of the village panchayat, who brought the matter to the notice of the Verowal police.

SHO Naresh Kumar said that the accused Satnam Singh, who was an addict, used to fight with his family members. His wife had left home as he was an addict.

The SHO said that the accused last night attacked his father Gurbhej Singh and younger brother Harjit Singh and beat them up with a wooden stick. He hit his father with a brick on the head who died.

The matter was noticed by the village elders on Sunday morning. SHO Naresh Kumar visited the spot and after collecting facts from the spot registered a case under section 103 and 115 of BNS.
