Man killed over suspected illicit relations, suspects nabbed

A man was allegedly killed by two of his friends in Gumtala Colony, falling under Cantonment police station, here last night. The victim was identified as Gurinder Singh (45). His body was handed over to the family after post-mortem examination on Friday.

The police said a case has been registered against Sukhwinder Singh (37), a resident of Guruwali area and his friend Gurpreet alias Gopi (35) of Talwandi Chir village in Batala. Both the suspects were arrested by the police within 12 hours of the incident.

Gurinder befriended Sukhwinder and started visiting his house. Sukhwinder got suspicious that he had illicit relations with his wife, leading to a scuffle.
