Man kills younger brother over rent in Amritsar village
Amritsar, August 3
A man murdered his younger brother over rent of a shop at Bhindi Saidan village here on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Malook Singh and the accused as Bagicha Singh, a resident of Bhindi Saidan.
Sarabjit Kaur, wife of Malook Singh, in her complaint lodged with the Bhindi Saidan police station stated that on Monday morning his husband demanded rent of a shop in their property from his elder brother Bagicha Singh. According to the complainant, the family owns a shop and Bagicha Singh used to collect rent of the shop every month. Malook Singh asked him that it should be divided in both of us or we have to collect the rent by turn.
Bagicha Singh got hyper with the demand of Malook Singh and after heated argument he took a brick and threw it at the head of Malook Singh. After the incident, Bagicha Singh fled from the spot and Malook was rushed to a private hospital in Amritsar. On Tuesday evening, Malook Singh died while undergoing treatment.
On the complaint of the victim’s wife Sarabjit Kaur, the Rural Police have registered a case under Section 302 of the IPC against Bagicha Singh.
Yadwinder Singh, investigating officer in the case, stated that the accused was still at large and police were raiding his probable hideouts.
