Rajbir Singh (50), resident of Naushehra Pannuan, who received head injuries when he was attacked by another resident of the same village died on Friday following treatment. ASI Salwinder Singh of the Sarhali Police Station said the deceased was walking home after taking his dinner on the night of August 18.

He was crossing the Naushehra Pannuan bus stop when he was attacked by one Akashdeep Singh. Rajbir fell and sustained head injuries. He was admitted to the local civil hospital and was then referred to Guru Nanak Dev Hospital, Amritsar. He was discharged but died at his house on August 19. ASI Salwinder Singh said the accused had been booked under Section 105 (B) of the BNS on Saturday.
