Revolutionary Marxist Party of India (RMPI) raised awareness about religious extremism, communalism at a political conference organised at the local Bus Adda on Monday. RMPI members called upon the people to maintain communal harmony in society. Party workers from across the district participated in the conference.

RMPI National General Secretary Mangat Ram Pasla, in his address, condemned the presence of “radicalism” under the Union Government, which he alleged was creating hatred among people. He said, “The Union Government is doing its best to implement the theory of supremacy of one religion over others.”

Pasla said the Modi-led government was working to protect the interests of the corporate sector at the cost of common people. He also condemned the ruling parties for failing to save the interests of Punjab. Chaman Lal Darajke, Pargat Singh Jamarai, Daljit Singh Dialpura, Dr Viapak Dhawan, Manjit Singh Baggu and Resham Singh Failoke were present among others.
