Master Cadre Union to stage protest on Oct 26

An emergency meeting at the district level of Master Cadre Teachers Union was held in Tarn Taran under the joint leadership of its state president Baljinder Singh Dhaliwal, vice-president Jagjit Singh and Harbhajan Singh Parton here on Monday.

District president of the union Balwinder Singh Fazilka and district general secretary Sukhdev Raj were among those who addressed the gathering and said the Punjab government has been completely rejecting the financial demands of teachers like restoration of Old Pension Scheme, payment of outstanding installments of DA, rural allowance, border allowance etc and has never fulfilled any demand by holding meetings before the by-election.

The Master Cadre Union leaders alleged that that employees have always been given a step-motherly treatment. The union decided to organise a protest against the state government in Tarn Taran on October 26 in Tarn Taran constituency in which thousands of teachers are expected to gather. The leaders said that the anti-employee face of the government will be exposed during the protest rally.
