Amritsar MC removes three kiosks

Amritsar: The estate wing of the Municipal Corporation removed newly established illegal kiosks along with some other encroachments at Khazana Gate here on Friday. Sushant Bhatia, state officer, said: “We have demolished three illegal kiosks in the area and a wall constructed near the site of the beautification project. Encroachments were removed near Alpha One Mall on the GT road by the MC team comprising Inspector Rajkumar, Kuldeep Singh, Dawinder Bhatti, Manoj Kumar and ASI Jaspal Singh. TNS

‘Recarpet roads after laying pipes’

Amritsar: The Municipal Corporation has taken a note of problems faced by city residents after laying of the gas pipeline by a firm. At a recent meeting, Mayor Karamjit Singh Rintu asked officials of the company to consult officials of the MC before executing any such project in the city. Ritu told to company officials about inconvenience being faced by residents of the areas where the firm had installed pipelines. MC officials asked the company to float a tender for recarpeting of the roads and streets before digging these to install the pipes. TNS
