Four patients with severe heart attacks have been saved under the STEMI project at Tarn Taran Civil Hospital in the past two weeks. The use of the Tenecteplase injection, costing Rs 45,000 to 50,000, has proven invaluable in treating critical cases. Civil Surgeon Dr Gurpreet Singh Rai shared that a woman, Veer Kaur (68) from Mohanpur village, presented with severe chest pain and breathing difficulties. After treatment, she was referred to Guru Nanak Dev Hospital, Amritsar, for further diagnosis and is now stable. Similar successful treatments were administered to Paramjit Singh (Tarn Taran), Dalbir Singh (60), and Robinjit Singh (29) from Doburji village. All four patients are now in stable condition.

Eat Right Mela at Company Bagh

The Food and Drug Administration, in collaboration with the District Administration, will host the Eat Right Walkathon and Fair on February 15 at Company Bagh. Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni announced that the event will feature healthy food stalls, cultural programs, and poster-making competitions organized by local schools. Punjab Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal will be the chief guest. The Health Department is committed to promoting healthy eating among district residents.

Stress & Exam Phobia Session

In support of student well-being, Dr Balbinder Singh, a psychologist from Guru Nanak Dev University, conducted a session on stress and exam phobia management for 10th-grade students at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Bhillowal. Dr Singh provided personalised guidance on coping strategies, time management, and building confidence. The session also focused on relaxation techniques such as deep breathing and visualization to help students manage exam stress and improve their academic performance.
