Minor abducted: Police book accused after a month

Tarn Taran: The Chohal Sahib police of Tarn Taran district have recorded the statement of a woman of Karmunwala village, whose teenage daughter was abducted a month back. The incident took place during the intervening night of December 29-30, when Balkaran Singh of the nearby Rani Walah village abducted her 15-year-old daughter, on the pretext of marrying her. The victim’s mother said she approached the police immediately after the incident to register a case against the accused. She said the police refused to pay heed to her complaint, yet she kept visiting them regularly. The accused has been booked under Sections 363 and 366-A of the IPC.
