The Amritsar South MLA, Dr Inderbir Singh Nijjar, inaugurated the construction of a new road in Ward No. 37, connecting Patti Balol to Dadu Jalla cremation ground here today. Speaking on the occasion Dr Nijjar said the demand for this road had been pending for a long time and the government had now initiated its construction. He assured residents that the roadwork would be completed soon, significantly improving local infrastructure.

He further said development projects worth Rs 40 crore were currently in progress across Amritsar, and their completion would provide much-needed relief to the people.

Dr Nijjar reassured residents of his constituency that no hurdle would be allowed to impede development of the area. He emphasised that the government had no shortage of funds and the Amritsar South’s development was a top priority.

He reiterated that the present administration was the government of the common people, fully dedicated to their welfare.

Reflecting on the government’s achievements in its three-year tenure, Dr Nijjar highlighted major initiatives, which include providing employment to nearly 50,000 youth, the establishment of Aam Aadmi Clinics, the launch of Schools of Eminence, the creation of a Road Safety Force and the provision of 600 units of free electricity.

He said all promises made during the elections would be fulfilled without compromise. Dr Nijjar highlighted the Punjab Government’s strong stance against drug trafficking. He mentioned that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had launched a vigorous campaign to combat drug abuse in the state. “Under this initiative, no drug trafficker will be spared, and properties acquired through illicit activities will be confiscated and demolished,” the MLA said. He appealed to the public to support the government in making Punjab a drug-free state. The inauguration event was attended by councillor Baljit Rinku, Navneet Sharma and a large number of local residents.
