Amritsar: The Amritsar Improvement Trust (AIT) today began development works in Amritsar East Assembly constituency. The work of covering the Gandha Nullah from Maqboolpura to Ajit Nagar was inaugurated by Lok Sabha MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla and AIT Chairman Dinesh Bassi. Chairman AIT said the development works worth Rs 13.50 crore had been started in the East constituency today. The covering of the nullah would bring respite to thousands of people. Due to this nullah, the areas under the Focal Point, Ward nos. 30 and 31 used to remain flooded in the rainy season. But as soon as its work is completed, the problem would end. Dinesh Bassi stated that the development works of crores of rupees had been initiated in Ward No 32 and 30, including the Dhingra Complex and Ward No. 22. MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla said the development works were going on full swing in the entire city. He congratulated Chairman Dinesh Bassi for the efforts. — TNS
