mSeva portal facing glitches, civic body asks residents to pay bills by visiting offices
Amritsar, August 30
The municipal corporation (MC) has asked residents to pay water and sewer bills offline as the mSeva portal is not working properly.
The water supply and sewer bills were sent to city residents through mSeva portal by the MC. Residents are raising objections over the flaws in the bill payment portal. Officials of the MC claimed that IT experts of Punjab Municipal Infrastructure Development Company (PMIDC) from Chandigarh were working on data base of software to rectify errors.
Many residents had complained that money got deducted from their bank accounts, but the bill payment did not reflect in the online water and sewer portal of the MC. Civic body officials claimed that consumers would soon get relief from bill-payment related issues.
“The general public is requested to pay their water and sewer bills to the MC on time. In case of any difficulty regarding billing, consumers can contact staff concerned at the office of Water Supply and Sewerage Department of the MC. Their problems will be solved on priority basis. If any consumer wants to get information about bill or update cellphone number or e-mail, he/she can do so through the link of the online portal,” said an MC official.
