NABARD prepared PLP launched

Deputy Commissioner Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal launched Potential Linked Credit Plan (PLP) 2020-21 document prepared by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) for total outlay of Rs97,516 crore for this border district.
The PLP was launched at the District Consultative Committee here on Tuesday. The document covers the potential credit areas under the priority sector. The PLP outlay has been increased by approx 2.37 % from last year’s potential from Rs9,526 crore to Rs9,751 crore.
NABARD District Development Manager Jaskirat Singh said agriculture credit should increase under investment credit so that capital formation in agriculture sector could take place. So as to improve farm economy by adopting modern farming techniques, the theme for the year 2020-21 is ‘Hi-Tech Agriculture’. Taking into account the above factors, the total projections of the PLP for this year have been estimated at 9,751 crore inclusive of Rs6,006 crore for agriculture, Rs898 crore for micro, small and medium enterprises, Rs521 crore for export credit, Rs569 crore for education, Rs1,482 crore for housing, Rs33 crore for renewable energy, Rs82 crore for others (SHG/JLG/small loans) and Rs158 crore for social infrastructure indicating a growth of 2.37% over PLP 2019-20 projections.
RBI LDO Vimal Sharma, LDM Pritam Singh and DCOs of banks were present on the occasion.
