Nagar Kirtan marks Shaheedi Diwas of Guru Arjun Dev
Dedicated to the 491th martyrdom (Shaheedi) purb of fifth Sikh Guru Arjun Dev, a colourful Nagar Kirtan procession was taken out in Tarn Taran on Thursday. Under the patronisation of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, the Panj Piaras led the procession. In the presence of Alwinderpal Singh Pakhoke, member of Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC), head granthi, Darbar Sahib, Tarn Taran, Bhai Satpal Singh performed Ardas at the time of departure of the Nagar Kirtan procession. A large number of devotees from Tarn Taran town and nearby villages participated in the Nagar Kirtan with great devotion in spite of the hot weather.
Starting from Sri Guru Arjun Dev Saran, the Nagar Kirtan passed through different bazaars and roads in the town where it was welcomed by the devotees. The town was sanitised by the safai workers of the Municipal Council. The organisers of the Nagar Kirtan were honoured with siropas by Bhai Dharwinder Singh Manochahal, Manager, Darbar Sahib, Tarn Taran.
