Led by the Panj Piaras, a Nagar Kirtan procession, dedicated to the Parkash Purb of fifth Sikh master Guru Arjan Dev and ninth master Guru Teg Bahadur was taken out from Darbar Sahib on Thursday.

The Nagar Kirtan procession was arranged by Bhai Dharwinder Singh Manochahal, manager, Darbar Sahib, Tarn Taran, with the assistance of Sikh religious bodies of the town and the area. A huge number of school students, band parties and sangat from Tarn Taran town and surrounding villages took part in it.

Giani Satpal Singh, head granthi, Darbar Sahib, performed the ardas at the time of departure of the Nagar Kirtan from Sri Guru Arjun Dev serai. The procession passed through various bazaars and roads of the town.

The town was colourfully decorated and devotees had arranged langar for the sangat participating in the Nagar Kirtan procession. The gatka parties performed as the procession moved on.
