Naman, a Class XII student from the city, bagged the third position in the examination conducted to encourage scientific awareness among students to discourage them from superstitious beliefs prevalent in society. The programme was organised by Tarksheel Society.

For the purpose of developing scientific temperament among students, the results of the state-level student science consciousness test conducted for middle and secondary groups recently was declared by Tarksheel Society, Punjab, on Sunday.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.
