National Road Safety Week concludes

The National Road Safety Week concluded here on Friday. The traffic wing of Amritsar rural police carried out a march for public awareness and urged them to follow traffic rules in order to save precious lives from being lost to road mishaps.

Students from KV School, Nangal Pannuan and Guru Nanak Dev Public School, Majitha participated in a foot march, holding placards and banners displaying message for traffic awareness. Majitha DSP Jogeshwar Goraya said during the week long programmes held at various places, students and people were made aware about safety steps which should be taken by commuters. They were also informed about ways to provide first-aid to accident victims.

On the concluding day, Amritsar city police held a poster making competition at Spring Dale School. Children from 22 schools participated in the competition and winners were awarded by ACP traffic Gurmeet Singh. A workshop about traffic norms was also held in which around 200 school bus drivers, conductors and helpers took part. Meanwhile traffic education cell also organised a seminar at Airforce station Rajasansi.
