The district-level 69th Primary School Games concluded at the Government Girls Elementary School grounds in Kairon. The winners were awarded by Satnam Singh Bath, District Education Officer, Tarn Taran, who was the chief guest. Jaswinder Singh, Block Elementary Education Officer, informed that the overall trophy was won by the Naushehra Pannu block.
Block Elementary Education Officer Ashwani Marwah (Naushehra Pannu), Jaswinder Singh Sandhu (Bhikhiwind), Dilbagh Singh (Khadoor Sahib), Manjinder Singh (Patti), Paras Kumar Khullar (Valtoha), Sarabjit Singh (Tarn Taran), Rajinder Singh (Gandiwind), Kulwinder Singh (Chohla Sahib) and Gurdeep Singh (Noordi block) supervised the games.
As many as 850 players, who were winners at the block-level games, participated in the district-level tournament.
A march past was organised by the players. Kho-kho, Kabaddi circle style, Kabaddi national style, handball, football, hockey, tug-of-war, chess, yoga, karate and gymnastics were the events in which the players took part.
DEO Bath motivated the winners to work hard and participate in state-level competitions. The DEO congratulated the players of Naushehra Pannu block for winning the overall trophy. District Sports Coordinator Jugraj Singh and his team of referees accompanied the DEO at the function. Devinder Singh Khehra performed duties as the stage secretary.
