The 24 Punjab Battalion NCC, Amritsar, conducted a “Vibrant Village Programme” in the border village of Mehndipur on Wednesday. The event saw participation from NCC cadets, schoolchildren of the Government Middle School, villagers, the ANO, instructors and administrative staff of the battalion.

The participants carried out a march in support of the “Nasha Mukt Bharat” campaign, spreading awareness among the youth. The War Memorial in the village dedicated to the “Battle of Sehjra-1971” was cleaned and a wreath was laid by Col PS Riar, Commanding Officer of the 24 Punjab Battalion.

Various sports competitions, including Kabaddi and Kho-Kho, were organised to encourage the participation of children and villagers.
