Nihang held for youth’s murder
Amritsar, August 30
The Amritsar (Rural) police have arrested a Nihang Sikh who killed his neighbour over trivial issue within 12 hours of the incident.
DSP Lakhwinder Singh said the suspect identified as Sukhdev Singh had beaten a youth identified as Malkeet Singh to death. The suspect lived in the neighbourhood of the deceased.
Malkeet was beaten to death by Sukhdev over an old dispute in Jahangir village falling under the Kamboh police station here on Wednesday night. The victim was alone at home when the suspect entered the former’s house by scaling the boundary wall and brutally thrashed him. The victim was the only son of the family.
A case was registered under relevant sections of the BNS against the suspect in this connection.
