Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Kuldip Singh Gargaj has firmly stated that no one should be prevented from visiting gurdwaras, condemning any attempts to restrict devotees’ access.

In a video message to the Sikh community on the occasion of the ‘first Parkash Purb’ of Guru Granth Sahib, the Jathedar expressed concern over ongoing complaints from abroad about people being prohibited from entering gurdwaras.

He stated that, regardless of the situation, no individual can be prevented from visiting any gurdwara, which is open to all of humanity.

He further recalled that the five Sikh high priests had earlier issued an edict from the Akal Takht, affirming that no one can be denied entry into a gurdwara. He urged those who engage in such actions—often driven by personal rivalries—to refrain from doing so.

Congratulating the Sangat on the auspicious occasion, he exhorted them to connect with Gurbani not only by listening but also by following it in their lives.

On the occasion, bhog of the Akhand Path was offered at Gurdwara Ramsar Sahib.

Golden Temple’s manager, Bhagwant Singh Dhangera, said with the help of Sikh Sangat the first Parkash Purb of Guru Granth Sahib was being celebrated. Subsequently, a Nagar Kirtan will be taken out from the gurdwara to the Golden Temple.
