Hundreds from across different villages of the district, under the banner of NREGA Workers Union, staged a demonstration in front of the District Administrative Complex (DAC) here on Wednesday to protest the mismanagement in giving job work to NREGA workers in villages.

District president of the union, Ranjit Singh Shkari, while speaking on the occasion, said the union has been raising the issue with the Deputy Commissioner for more than a year. NREGA workers in Sursingh, Narli, Dialpura, Thahian Mahantan, Kirian, Wan, Bhojian and other villages have suffered due to the partial attitude of the administration but their problem remains unresolved, they said.
