Amritsar, April 9
The Ajnala police have booked a ‘nurse’ for running a clinic in Ballarwal village after her treatment led to the death of a woman, identified as Soni. She was suffering from severe stomach ache. The accused, identified as Rajinder Kaur, alias Harjinder Kaur, has been on the run.
Judge Singh, brother of the victim, told that his sister Soni had come to meet them at Bhangupur Baet village. He said she complained of severe pain in the stomach and told that her treatment was going on at the clinic run by nurse Rajinder Kaur located at Abadi Baba Gam Chuk in Ballarwal village. The victim’s brother said he along with his mother Karam Kaur took her to Rajinder Kaur’s clinic. She told that there was some clotting in her stomach. After four hours of treatment she asked them to shift her to a private hospital in Ajnala while adding that she had talked to a doctor about the case.
Judge Singh said they rushed her to the private hospital on April 6 in the night where doctors said that there was excessive bleeding in the stomach following a cut in the vein. He said she succumbed on Friday. He alleged that his sister Soni died due to alleged negligence on the part of nurse Rajinder Kaur.
Sub-Inspector Lakhwinder Singh said that it was not clear whether Rajinder Kaur was a qualified nurse or not. She was allegedly running the clinic in the village in illegal manner. She was at large following the incident while a case under Section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the IPC was registered against her. The body of the deceased was handed over to the family after post-mortem examination on Saturday. Raids were on to nab her.
