Amritsar, July 27
A Pakistani intruder was arrested by the Border Security Force (BSF) near Ratankhurd border village here late last night. Though nothing objectionable was found from his possession, he was handed over to the police for further necessary action.
The Gharinda police have registered a case against him under Section 14(A) of Foreigners Act and Sections 3, 34 and 20 of the Indian Passport Act.
He was identified as Nasrullah of Khyber Pakhtoon in Pakistan. The BSF seized a wallet, pen drive, identity card, mobile phone and some Pakistani currency from his possession. Sources said the troupes noticed suspected movement of a person near the International Border. He was headed towards the barbed fence when he was apprehended near Ratankhurd village.
“After preliminary questioning by the BSF and other agencies, he was handed over to the police for further probe to know his motive behind crossing the IB,” the BSF authorities said. This is the second arrest of a Pakistani national within three days.
