Pass resolutions against drug traders: MLA to panchayats
Manjinder Singh Lalpura, MLA from Khadoor Sahib constituency, has called upon the sarpanches of all gram panchayats in his constituency to hold meetings on Sunday to pass resolutions against cooperating with drug traders.
Speaking today, the MLA emphasised the importance of collective action to combat the drug menace in the region. He stated that announcements were made through the public address systems of village gurdwaras to inform sarpanches and panchayat members about organising these meetings.
Lalpura underscored that the state government believes the cooperation of local panchayats is crucial in tackling the drug problem. He urged panchayats to resolve not to cooperate with drug traders, ensuring that such individuals face legal consequences, including imprisonment without bail.
This appeal is part of broader efforts to engage local communities in combating drug trafficking and creating a united front to address the issue at its roots.
