Pathankot swimmer to compete at Singapore championship
Avni Chhabra, a talented young swimmer from Pathankot, has earned the opportunity to represent India at the prestigious 55th Singapore National Age Group Swimming Championship 2025.
This elite competition serves as a qualifier for the 47th South-East Asia Age Group Championships, World Aquatics Championships and the Southeast Asian Games. Organised by Singapore Aquatics (SAQ), the national sports association governing Swimming, Water Polo, Artistic Swimming, Diving and Open Water Swimming, the championship will take place at the OCBC Aquatic Centre in Singapore from March 18 to 23, 2025.
The six-day international event will feature Singapore’s top swimmers alongside elite athletes from India, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, and other countries, all competing for coveted spots at major upcoming championships.
Avni, a student of Montessori Cambridge School (MCS), Pathankot, is eager to showcase her talent on the global stage, aiming to achieve qualifying times and set new personal bests. Her teachers, Vinod Mahajan and Rashmi Ahluwalia, have congratulated her on this significant achievement and wished her the best in her international challenge.
